American Friends of Sheba Gala Dinner in New York

American Friends of Sheba Chairman of the Board, Helene Feldman, Chinese-American businesswoman Yue‐Sai Kan (the dinner honoree), and Sheba CEO Prof. Zeev Rotstein.

A December gala dinner in New York City by the American Friends of Sheba raised several hundred thousand dollars for the hospital. The dinner honored Chinese-American businesswoman Yue‐Sai Kan with the Sheba "Global Special Ambassador" award.

Yue‐Sai Kan has been identified by People Magazine as China’s most notable woman, and Business Week has listed her among the top 100 most successful immigrant business people in America. She is a writer, fashion icon, cosmetics executive, film producer and humanitarian activist.

The Sheba gala celebrated the heritage of both the Chinese and Israeli cultures. In attendance were the Chinese and Israeli ambassadors to the UN. The 350 dinner guests were addressed by Sheba CEO Prof. Zeev Rotstein, and were serenaded by Grammy award-winning Israeli violinist, Miri Ben‐Ari. Also addressing the dinner was Lt. (res.) Eran Peri, an IDF commander severely injured during the Second Lebanon War, who was treated and rehabilitated at Sheba. Also honored with a Sheba "Rising Leader Award" was Mr. Tyler Greif.

American Friends of Sheba Chairman of the Board of Directors Helene Feldman chaired the Chanuka eve dinner, which was held at the stately "Capitale" banquet hall in Manhattan. She said that she was thrilled with the strong showing of support for Sheba in New York City. "Truly this evening reflects Sheba's nature as a 'Hospital without Boundaries' and a global medical resource and beacon of care for Israel."
