JSNC - The Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center

Director: Prof. Anat Biegon, Ph.D. (to Prof. Biegon's personal site)

Goal: The objective of the Sheba Neuroscience Research Center is to coordinate research efforts on diseases of the brain and spinal cord and to facilitate research collaborations among investigators in the departments of neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry.  The ultimate goal is to establish a center of excellence in clinically-relevant research in the neurosciences. Drawing on the considerable resources of the largest Israeli hospital, we aim to create a productive, competitively funded research core of international renown that will draw clinical researchers, basic scientists and students from around the world. Currently, there are more than 100  physicians and scientists (Center Affiliates mailing list ) working on CNS-related problems at Sheba.

The center physicians and scientists collaborate with other departments and institutes within Sheba (e.g. radiology, nuclear medicine, endocrinology) as well as with scientists and students at Tel Aviv and Bar-Ilan universities and similar centers abroad. The center holds an interdisciplinary, monthly guest lecture program.

Location: Outpatient clinics building, second floor.

Other Resources:
• A changing exhibit of research areas and recent publications by the Sheba neuroscience community.
• Announcements of meetings, lectures and seminars related to neuroscience.
• Information and forms related to funding agencies in Israel and abroad which provide research grants and fellowships in the neurosciences.
• "Image of the month" - a pictorial illustration from ongoing research projects.
• New studies recruiting research subjects.
