The Ambulatory Surgery Department offers the following surgical services to all surgery departments in the Sheba Medical Center's general and rehabilitation hospitals: Oncology Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Orthopedic Hand Surgery, Orthopedic Foot Surgery, Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT Surgery, etc. We perform surgery under general and local anesthesia in nine modern operating theaters equipped with top line operating equipment. All of our operating room staff is senior level surgeons and anesthesiologists from our surgery and anesthesiology departments.
Our goal is to offer our patients the highest quality surgery available, with the option of recuperation in what is always the most preferable setting-- their own home.
Our department is designed like all standard operating complexes, with post-operational recuperation rooms where a patient remains under the capable supervision of the department's physicians and nurses.
Patients destined to undergo surgical procedures under general anesthesia are invited one day prior to their scheduled surgery to receive instruction from the staff. Post surgery patients are invited for follow up at the Surgery Outpatient Clinic. For emergency treatment and counseling required after surgery, patients can contact the department by phone or speak with the department on duty's physician. If the surgeon deems it necessary, a patient may be hospitalized in one of the surgical wards.
