The Laser Clinic focuses exclusively on treatment of oral soft tissue pathological conditions with CO2 laser and the Nd YAG laser.
Laser therapy is advantageous mainly when Homeostasis is of problems in areas where Hemostasis by sutures cannot be achieved or is very complicated due to anatomical condition. It is also used for highly vascular lesions such as Hemangioma, Peripheral Giant Cell Granuloma, Pyogenic Granulomas and Epulis Fissuratum. Laser Therapy is also used for ablation of premalignant conditions occupying the oral mucosa.
Two patient populations have extensive benefit from the laser treatment:
- Patients with coagulation problems either genetic or drug induced;
- Patients after organ transplantation. These patients suffer from severe Gingival Hyperplasia induced by the immunosuppressant drugs. Generally resection and proper homeostasis in these patients cannot be achieved in conventional surgical methods. Every year about 150 patients are treated in the clinic.
