The Department of Pediatric Surgery is a multidisciplinary floor which provides services in:

• General Pediatric Surgery
• Pediatric Orthopedics
• Pediatric Urology
• Pediatric Neurosurgery
• Pediatric ENT (Ear Nose and Throat)
• Pediatric Plastic Surgery

Our General Pediatric surgery service provides services for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, premature and mature newborn, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Emergency room, Hemato-Oncology and the different sub unit in pediatrics.

We also provide prenatal consultations for patients who have a fetus with abnormal findings.

Congenital Diseases and Malformation

• Congenital Maldevelopment of the Lung - CCAM, Sequestration, Bronchial Cyst
• Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia / Extra Corporal Membrane Oxygenator (ECMO)
• Esophageal Atresia - The difficult Esophagus - Gastric pull up to replace the Esophagus
• High Imperforated Anus - Laparoscopic approach Vs Posterior Sagital Anoplasty

The Department of Pediatric Surgery is engaged in research in the following areas:

• Diaphragmatic Hernia
• Pyloric Hypertrophy in the Neonate
• Peri-Appendicular Abscess way of treatment Conservative Vs Surgical treatment

The Pediatric Surgery Service is actively involved in academic teaching engaged with the Tel Aviv University, Sackler School of Medicine, including pre-clinic and clinical teaching in the field of Pediatric Surgery for medical students, as well as for the students at the American program of Tel Aviv University.  Lectures at the postgraduate courses are given by the senior staff during the academic year as well lectures in our field at two nursing schools.
