Sheba's Corona Recovery Clinic

Unlike other viral illnesses such as the flu which end at some point (at least until the next flu season), the coronavirus is apt to leave its mark on patients long after recovery. Many recovering COVID-19 patients continue to experience various symptoms, such as itching, rash, numbness, loss of taste, memory lapse, anxiety, depression, blood vessel disorders and damage to the heart muscle.

These patients are examined at Sheba's Corona Recovery clinic and treated accordingly. We recommend that corona patients who are not suffering from any lingering symptoms also come to us for follow-up. In our experience, many patients are unaware of or fail to attribute importance to what are, in fact, lingering coronavirus symptoms.

Sheba's Infectious Diseases unit has vast experience following and treating corona patients, ranging from mild to severe cases. Sheba was charged with the national task of treating the very first corona patients in Israel who arrived from the Diamond Princess ship that had been docked in Japan. We accompanied the patients starting from their diagnosis in the ER, through their hospitalization in the corona ICU, as well as in the corona motels and private homes.

The Infectious Diseases team is studying the coronavirus as well as corona antibodies and the different symptoms associated with the disease.
