Structural Accessibility Arrangements

At Sheba, we are investing great resources in enabling people with disabilities to access the buildings and outdoor areas, the project is still in process. Following are the accessibility arrangements provided at the medical center:

  • There are several parking lots throughout the Medical Center, each assigned with disabled parking spaces. Parking for vehicles with a disabled parking permit is free of charge.
  • Continuous access from the parking lot, to the entrance, reception desks and areas where the services are provided.
  • Wheelchair accessible reception stations.
  • Accessible lavatories throughout the campus (suitable signage and directions).
  • Benches between and within the buildings for resting.

Website

Enabling access to the Medical Center website is a high priority. We are currently (2021) in the process of constructing a new and accessible website, aiming to improve accessibility based on Israeli standard recommendations (IS 5568) for Level AA web accessibility and the international WCAG 2.0.

Accessibility is intended to enable people with vision or hearing disabilities, impaired hand movements, intellectual disabilities and a lack of computer skills to optimally navigate the various web pages.

To this end, we have implemented several measures:

Created a hierarchy that enables simple navigation and orientation.

Used clear content and legible fonts.

Designed a consistent and clear structure for all Sheba mini-sites and pages.

Adapted the website to various browsers and different resolutions.

Added descriptive text to the images (using alt).

Adjustment for the Vision Impaired

High-contrast website colors to improve readability for the visually impaired.

The screen can be magnified and minimized using the browser Zoom option. Concurrently pressing Ctrl and (+) will enlarge the display (press several times to achieve the desired size). Press Ctrl and (-) to reduce the display size.

The website is adjusted for users using screen reading software, including AIRA to improve user interpretation, enhance titles and provide text instead of photos.

Online actions can be performed on a keyboard, as follows: Pressing Tab takes you to the next link, pressing Enter activates the link.

Pressing Shift-Tab takes you back to the previous link.

If you have encountered any accessibility problems or faults, please notify us and we will do our best to provide you with a suitable solution.
