Autoimmune Disease Lab
Clinic Hours:
Sunday - Thursday, 08:00-16:00
Location:
Hospitalization Tower, Level E, Autoimmune Center (adjacent to the auditorium)
The Autoimmune Disease Lab performs a wide variety of immunology tests, helping to diagnose autoimmune diseases.
In autoimmune diseases, the immune system attacks the body, generating autoantibodies. Lab tests are conducted to locate the autoantibodies. The tests utilize the most advanced technologies and methods in the field, including innovative fluorescence microscopes and a multiplex device for concurrently quick testing a large number of autoantibodies.
In order to ensure the required level of reliability and precision for each test, the lab team maintains an internal QC routine and participates in international QC programs, such as: NEQAS, CAP, RPPA.
The lab provides analytical diagnostics for all Medical Center departments and clinics, as well as external bodies, including IDF, hospitals, health funds, associations, private labs and private patients. The lab takes part in medical research conducted at Sheba and is involved in biotech company R&D departments.
The lab performs ~100 different kinds of tests, covering ~50,000 tests per year.
