Monitoring of women at high risk for breast cancer
Our clinic was set up with the goal of centralizing treatment and improving follow-up for women at high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer (including healthy women or women who have previously had cancer). This includes women who have been tested and found to carry mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes. We provide a comprehensive follow-up program for these women, catering to their unique needs in a supportive and warm environment, that offers a supportive network throughout the decision-making process.
The clinic's follow-up program includes:
- Breast surgeon examination - twice a year.
- Gynecological examination, including gynecological ultrasound and CA-125 blood test - once or twice a year.
- Breast imaging: MRI, breast ultrasound, and mammography - once a year for surgery guidance.
- Genetic counseling and guidance by an oncogeneticist.
- Consultation and referral to specialists in the following areas: plastic surgery, fertility preservation, oncology and gynecologic oncology.
