Returning to Life: Hostage survivor Maya Regev completes rehabilitation at Sheba
Regev thanks her medical team: "My condition now compared to when I first got here is like night and day!"
“My condition now compared to when I first got here is like night and day! I’ve got the therapists, doctors, and nurses to thank for this amazing improvement - they stuck with me even when things got tough.” Maya Regev, a former hostage abducted on October 7 from the Nova party with her brother Itai and their friend Omer Shem Tov, who is still being held hostage in Gaza, expressed her gratitude to the dedicated team that cared for her during rehabilitation: “A month ago, I never thought I’d leave here without crutches, but the medical team believed in me. And now, here I am, walking out without them!”
Regev has been in Sheba’s "Returning to Life" wing since January, undergoing extensive rehabilitation after being shot in the leg during the kidnapping and receiving inadequate treatment in a Gazan hospital. Regev also thanked the staff for their emotional support throughout her long rehabilitation, saying, “I always had someone to talk to, no matter when.”
Regev expressed hope the other patients in the rehabilitation wing would soon return to their homes and their lives.
