New at Sheba: Pacemaker Clinic for Children
Children and infants with pacemakers can now receive care in an environment designed just for them
Safra Children’s Hospital at Sheba Medical Center has opened a new pacemaker clinic designed specifically for infants, children, and young adults who rely on pacemakers, defibrillators, or cardiac monitoring devices.
The clinic is led by Dr. Yoav Bolkier, a senior cardiologist at the Pediatric Heart Institute at Sheba Medical Center and an expert in arrhythmias and pacing in children.
“The clinic is designed with children in mind, both in the care we provide and the environment we create,” says Dr. Bolkier. "The clinic staff understands and recognizes the special needs and concerns of children, and we offer a variety of resources available at Safra Children's Hospital to make the visit more pleasant, such as medical clowns, educational activities, virtual reality glasses and more.”
