Sheba Leads in Quality and Service Metrics for Internal Medicine in Israel
Sheba Medical Center ranks first among internal medicine departments in public hospitals for 2024
Sheba Medical Center is once again leading the way in quality care and patient service, this time in internal medicine. According to the Ministry of Health’s 2024 service and quality index, Sheba ranks at the very top among large public hospitals, scoring over 90% on the overall service index.
In recent years, Sheba has invested heavily in improving its internal departments and patient experience. Several departments were renovated, and staff received additional training. These efforts are evident in Sheba's strong performance in quality and service rankings.
What does the index include?
The service and quality index for internal medicine departments is based on several key factors:
- The ratio of specialist doctors and residents to available beds
- The percentage of certified nurses with specialized training
- A decrease in readmission rates within 7 days
- Patient satisfaction levels
- Implementation of internal hospital improvement processes
- Significant investments focused on improving services
Prof. Yonatan Sharabi, Head of the Internal Medicine Division: "Internal medicine is staffed by some of the best doctors in the system. These are specialists with a special ability to view the patient as a whole, analyze all medical data, and connect patients with other experts when needed. Equally deserving of recognition is our incredible nursing team. Every day, they manage heavy workloads and complex challenges while providing dedicated and unparalleled professional care."
Mali Zander, Coordinator of the Nursing System in the Internal Division: “I am incredibly proud to share the results of the Ministry of Health's Service and Quality Index. This achievement is all thanks to the amazing teamwork that happens every single day through everyone’s dedication, professionalism, persistence, and consistency. We’ll keep growing and achieving great things by staying focused on what our patients need and continuing to show the remarkable commitment and effort from all our teams.”
What does leadership mean for patients?
Sheba's top ranking in the service and quality index is positive news for patients. It reflects the outstanding care, service, and professionalism across Sheba's departments. Patients can trust they are in excellent hands and receiving the best care possible.
Caroline Bats-Chisin, VP of Marketing and Human Experience: "Sheba's leadership is not only a source of pride for us but also a testament to our deep commitment to our patients. We’ll continue striving to provide our patients with the very best."
