Sheba Green Project is underway; temporary disruptions expected at the entrance.

Planting trees, laying lawns, and paving paths will make Sheba greener. What disruptions can you expect during the project?

04-06-2025

More trees, more shade, fewer cars, and less asphalt – that’s what the Sheba public spaces upgrade project is all about. The project is making great progress: hundreds of trees have been planted, new pedestrian and cycling paths are being built, peaceful seating areas are being added, fences are being removed to better connect the urban space to the medical center, and concrete is being replaced with greenery.

Work will begin near the northern-central entrance (Maternity Gate) and will gradually extend to other areas. This may result in slightly longer wait times at the main entrance. Keep this in mind when planning your visit to Sheba, and thank you for your patience. For quicker access, we recommend using the southern or eastern gates (see the attached map for details).

This project will create a greener, more welcoming space for visitors to Sheba while helping rainwater absorb into the ground and lowering the risk of winter flooding. Future plans include building a direct connection to the Purple Line light rail station and transforming the southern water reservoirs into a park with an ecological lake.

We apologize for any inconvenience and are working quickly to finish the improvement work with minimal disruption for our medical center visitors.

Operating hours of Sheba's entrance gates:
Main Gate (Maternity): Open 24/7.
South Gate (Entrance from Route 461): Open Sunday-Thursday from 05:30-23:30, Friday from 05:30-15:00, and closed on Shabbat.
East Gate (Bakum Gate): Open Sunday–Thursday from 05:30- 21:00, Friday from 05:30-15:00, and closed on Shabbat.
