A new communication department at Sheba

The journalist Avi Bettelheim will head the new department of communication, advertising and strategic marketing at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center.

Dana Lavi- Menherdat has been appointed spokesperson at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center.

Avi  Bettelheim, untill recently deputy editor of "Maariv" will take his new position as Head of the department of communication, advertising and strategic marketing at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel-Hashomer.

Bettelheim will head a new department at Sheba's management, that will include spokesmanship, marketing, the Tel-Hashomer Guild, Sheba's internet site and the recently opened public assistance center.

Sheba is the most comprehensive hospital in Israel with cutting-edge medical research underway and pioneer project planed for the coming years.

This is one of the reasons for the creation of a new department of communication, advertising and strategic marketing, headed by an experienced and well-known communication person such as Bettelheim.

Professor Zeev Rotstein, Director of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, who initiated this new venture, said yesterday that the future challenge of revolution of healthcare system in Israel and the commitment to excellence aimed at Sheba from its creation require the hospital to put an emphasis on publicity, information and marketing.

Bettelheim, a journalist with an outstanding record and acquainted for years with all the Medias, will help putting Sheba Medical Center on the map, enlighten all it has to offer and label it as Israel's National Hospital.

Bettelheim, 55 years old, worked for 33 years at "Maariv". Among his major positions: reporter at Tel Aviv's court of justice, reporter for political parties, editor for the sport section, editor for the weekend edition, deputy editor of" Maariv". He has been awarded the Sokolov prize for journalism, hosted television programs (Channel 1 and Education Channel) and radio programs (Kol Israel).

Dana Lavi- Menherdat has been appointed the new spokesperson at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center.

Lavi- Menherdat, 31 year old, worked for 7 years in an office for strategic communication, served as spokesperson for the "Leumit" HMO and as a communication consultant for several companies.
