The Friends of Sheba in the United States have launched a new campaign to support the expansion of the Sheba Rehabilitation Hospital. Entitled "Holyland Heroes," the initiative seeks to fund a new building for advanced technologies in rehabilitation, and expansion of the main rehabilitation hospital building.
Launching the campaign at Sheba this month was American businesswoman and former model Kathy Ireland of California, "International Ambassador" of the Holyland Heroes campaign. She dedicated several cornerstones on the Sheba "Pathway to Life" health boardwalk; toured the medical center; and filmed a documentary film for the new campaign.
Ms. Ireland was formally received at Beit HaNasi for an emotional meeting with the President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres. She also met with former Israel Air Force Chief-of-Staff Dan Chalutz, who told her about the outstanding treatment and miraculous recoveries from injury that his fellow pilots had been blessed with at Sheba.
