Gala Dinner Dinner Held in New York

The American Friends of Sheba Medical Center recently held its annual gala dinner in New York City. More than $1.2 million was raised for the medical center.

Teheran-born philanthropist Mrs. Mitra Damaghi was honored with the Sheba Humanitarian Award, and the Third Global Special Ambassador Award was bestowed upon Sam and Libby Edelman, award-winning shoe industry innovators.

The evening's keynote speaker was Major General Uri Bar-Lev, senior Israel police and public security attaché for North America. 650 black-tie guests attended the October 19 gala, along with Sheba leaders Professors Zeev Rotstein and Mordechai Shani.
