Technological and Human Steps

The "Steps" Institute for mobility rehabilitation at the Sheba Medical Center, founded in 2001, is directed by Mr. Boaz Shamir and his expert team of physiotherapists. The institute is an integral part of Sheba's neurological rehabilitation department, directed by Dr. Gabi Zeilig.

The "Steps" Institute focuses on mobility rehabilitation for a range of patients who suffer from spinal cord injuries, stroke, peripheral nerve damage, muscle-nerve diseases, head injury, amputation, paralysis, brain surgery and other orthopedic problems.

The institute utilizes the most advanced equipment in the world, including RGO systems for people with complete lower-limb paralysis, ERGYS systems and the Lokomat system.
