U.S. Congressmen Visit Wounded Soldiers at Sheba
Nine U.S. members of Congress today visited wounded IDF soldiers in the orthopedic and head/brain trauma departments of the Rehabilitation Hospital at the Sheba Medical Center.
"Visiting were Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Susan Davis (D-CA), Tom Graves (R-GA), Morgan Griffith (R-VA), Janice Hahn (D-CA), Randy Hultgren (R-IL), Steve Israel (D-NY), Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and Jerrold Nadler (D-NY)."
"This was an enormously powerful and meaningful visit for us," said the AIPAC President, Robert Cohen, who accompanied the members of Congress . "The young men we met were full of optimism and commitment to the country. They are true heroes. We were so glad to hear of the outstanding treatment they are receiving at the impressive Sheba Medical Center."
Mrs. Mira Bar-Mashiah, President of the American Friends of Sheba, accompanied the delegation, as well (in photo, below center, next to the President of AIPAC).
The Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer has now treated over 100 Israel Defense Forces soldiers who were wounded on the battlefields in Gaza. Sixty soldiers are still hospitalized at Sheba, half of whom have moved from acute care into rehabilitation.
