Researchers from the Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center received excellence awards for their work
At the annual meeting of the Israel Society for Neuroscience Conference in that took place in Eilat earlier this month, some 300 works were exposed, of which 10 have won the best poster, two of them from the Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center run by Prof. Michal Beeri.
Ms. Barns presented the work done under the supervision of Dr. Irit Lubitsch, director of the Center Laboratory, on the effects of diet with high levels of a substance called Advanced Glycation End Products, which speeds up the aging process, the development of Alzheimer's disease.
Dr. Sigal Liraz-Saltzman presented a joint work with the Hebrew University led by Professor Esty Shahami, on the new drug therapy against cognitive damage following a traumatic head injury.
