A fellowship scholarship was awarded to two "Talpionnaires" - Dr. Amir Herman and Dr. Michael Kinori, by the Israeli Medical Association (IMA)
This year 16 scholarships were awarded by the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) to excellent physicians who are beginning fellowship programs around the world. Each scholarships is in the amount of 16,000 NIS. Every scholarship awarded was in honour of a physician who passed away. An awards ceremony was held at the IMA offices on Thursday 24th April. Dr. Zeev Feldman, Chairman of the IMA WF, welcomed over a hundred guests including the physicians who received scholarships and the families of the honoured physicians.
This year, two "Talpionnairs" : Dr. Amir Herman and Dr. Michael Kinori received a scholarship.
Dr. Amir Herman - fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Medical Center, USA. His scholarship was awarded in memory of Dr. Dani Simon.
Dr. Michael Kinori – clinical fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Anne F. & Abraham Ratner Children's Center and UCSD Eye Center, San Diego, USA. His scholarship was awarded in memory of Prof. Avraham (Rami) Czerniak.
Since Both Dr. Dani Simon and Prof. Avraham (Rami) Czerniak were part of the Sheba Family there was a since of the continuum of the Sheba spirit of excellence in the air. Dr. Herman also stated that he was a student of Dr. Simon which is one of his role-models. As such he was much honored to receive this award.
