Naftali Bennet, Israel’s Minister of Education, visits Sheba

Minister of Education, Naftali Bennett, visited the Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital in Sheba to mark the opening of the 2017-18 school year.

Bennett visited the Children’s Educational Center at Sheba, a joint project between Sheba and the Ministry of Education to enable children to continue their studies during their hospital treatments. He met with the pedagogical staff. The director of the medical center, Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, hosted the minister.

Minister Bennett met the outgoing Director of the Educational Center, Dafna Zaretsky, and the incoming Director, Michal Raz. They explained the Center’s day-to-day activities, including the children's struggle to continue the normal course of studies during their hospitalization.

Later, the Minister visited the children's Hemato-Oncology Department at Sheba, accompanied by Dr. Itai Pesach, Deputy Director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital. He met with Hannah, Eitan, Shani and Hanna, current patients in the Children’s Hospital who are continuing their studies with the help of the Sheba Educational Center.
