Celebrating Renowned Women at LA’s Friends of Sheba Annual Women of Achievement Luncheon.

For over 25 years, the LA Friends of Sheba have been celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of their female supporters with an annual Women of Achievement Luncheon.

This year, LA friends of Sheba points its spotlight on two women of achievement, highlighting their contributions to their profession, family, and Jewish communities.

Each year the people of LA come out in style to support the Friends of Sheba. With the empowerment of women being more prominent in public consciousness than ever, we expect this year’s luncheon to be one of the most celebrated yet. Sheba’s devoted supporters, Judy Flesh Rosenberg and Dvorah Colker will be awarded with the Marjorie Pressman Legacy Award and the Women of Achievement Award respectively at the 2018 luncheon.

Through their service and generosity to Sheba Medical Center, we will be able to continue our lifesaving work for generations to come.

Judy Flesh Rosenberg, who will be receiving the 2018 Women of Achievement Award, earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University Of Southern California School Of Pharmacy. She also did Post-Doctoral training at USC School of Medicine. She is a community leader, active in many organizations including the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN), which she co-founded.

Judy is a member of the Board of Directors for Jewish Vocational Services (JVS), which offers women hope and opportunity via job training, mentoring and education. Judy is a passionate advocate for the education and welfare of children in underserved areas as well as empowering women to achieve their goals. These are among some of her many efforts to better the world for women and children, making it our honor to award her the 2018 Woman of Achievement award.

Dvorah Colker, who will be receiving the 2018 Marjorie Pressman Legacy Award, has been a proud friend and supporter of Sheba Medical Center for over 25 years. Her and her late husband, Jack z”l, have been active members of the Los Angeles Jewish community for their entire marriage, and Dvora has continued to support a variety of causes since his passing. Causes include Friends of Sheba Medical Center, Jewish National Fund, Israel Bonds, and the Jewish Federation.

Dvorah is especially passionate about cancer research and rehabilitation of wounded IDF soldiers. Her relationship with Sheba stems from her close friendship with Marjorie Pressman, z"l, making this year’s legacy award all that more meaningful to us.

Judy and Dvorah are among the many women Sheba is honored to have a longstanding relationship with. We look forward to celebrating them and many other outstanding women of LA in the years to come.
