02-05-2018

Leading cardiovascular disease specialists from the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota came to Israel to meet with and work alongside top cardiovascular medical professionals at Sheba Medical Center, as part of the 4th Mayo Clinic Sheba Medical Center Symposium.

Dr. Paul Friedman, Professor of Medicine and Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mayo Clinic revealed, "I visit Sheba at least once or twice a year. The relationship continues to grow as we share our knowledge and different techniques. Our goals are to provide and share new insights on how to treat and help patients in need and benefit humanity based on our collaborations."

The joint medical teams performed several sophisticated procedures on critically ill Sheba heart patients, including one with an artificial heart. "These are very complicated cases, where the expertise of the Mayo Clinic cardiovascular specialists, assisted us in helping to save these patients lives," claimed Dr. Roy Beinart, Cardiac-Electrophysiologist at Sheba Medical Center.
