Latin American Jewish Leaders Visit Sheba

A delegation of Jewish community leaders from various Latin American countries visited Sheba Medical Center, where they were given a VIP tour of the facility by Dr. David Hazzan, a prominent surgeon, who himself is a Latin American oleh (a Jewish immigrant to Israel).

Sheba's Director General, Prof. Yitshak Kreiss told the delegation, "I am proud of the fact that I was David's commanding officer in the IDF Medical Corps when he made Aliyah. He is one of our best." He added, "Sheba is destined to be the hospital of peace, as we stretch our hands out to treat everyone, Jews and Arabs alike. Medicine is the only non-political issue in Israel. And when you save an Arab child's life, whether they are from Gaza or Ramallah, the anti-Semitism disappears, they can't hate you anymore."
