Understanding your heart - 2010

This dynamic program includes 9 meetings and lectures on different topics on the health of your heart that take place once a month in the Sheba Medical Center. This series of lectures is essentially a primary and secondary prevention program for heart disease.

Relating to all matters concerning heart disease - the objective is to get individuals to listen, to question, to understand, to know, to change, calm down and to be proactive.

SHAHAL (http://www.shl-telemedicine.com/) sponsors the program and the lectures and meetings are free-of-charge.

  • Risk factors in the prevention of atherosclerosis

  • Diet and coronary artery disease

  • Signs of angina and heart attack

  • Basic resuscitation for the patient and his family

  • The harms of smoking and methods to quit

  • Sexual rehabilitation following a heart attack

  • Physical education and its affect on risk factors

  • Biofeedback in daily living

  • How to stop smoking

  • Ways to cope after a heart attack.
