Dr. Sigal Liraz Zaltsman
I am a neuroscientist, head of the Neurotrauma Group and the director of the Israel National Brain Repository in the Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center, Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer. I received my doctorate in neuroscience from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
My Research is focused on experimental traumatic brain injury (TBI) in rodents and addresses mechanisms of long term consequence of the injury in particular different aspects of neuroinflammation. I'm interested in different aspect of learning and memory rehabilitation and recovery following injury. In addition we manipulate the recovery via different roots of interventions (pharmacological, training) in order to accelerate brain recovery following TBI and translate those findings in order to develop novel drugs to human subjects.
Our group has extensive experience in performance and management of projects including animal's behavior test different immunohistochemistry techniques and postmortem neuropathology assessments.
