Dr. Alex Krauthammer is a senior physician specializing in pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition and hepatology at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital, Sheba Medical Center.
In his clinical practice Dr. Krauthammer manages a wide spectrum of pediatric gastrointestinal disorders, including celiac disease, inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), Helicobacter pylori infection, gastritis, malnutrition,gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), and patients post-repair of tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). Additionally, he leads specialized care for patients with lymphatic disorders and Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS). As part of his expertise, he performs a wide range of advanced endoscopic procedures.
Dr. Krauthammer's primary research interests focus on celiac disease, IBD, nutrition, growth, Helicobacter pylori infection, and gastritis. To date, he has published ca. 20 peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals. He is an active member of a European research consortium on Helicobacter pylori and Gastritis and currently serves as a lecturer at Tel Aviv University.
