Prof. Alon Skaat is a senior attending ophthalmologist and surgeon at the Sheba Medical Center. He specialized in the best of treatment and surgical approaches for glaucoma and cataract, treated complicated patients who were referred from all over the United States and the world, and so, acquiring clinical and surgical experience in treatment of versatile and complex situations. He has a large experience in multiple surgical techniques, operates all the different cataract surgeries (with and without laser, using premium lenses) and all the different kinds of glaucoma surgeries and lasers.
Currently, Prof. Skaat serves as a Clinical Professor at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv University, and is an active member in the Israeli Medical Association, the Israel Ophthalmology Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Glaucoma Society (AGS), the European Glaucoma Society (EGS), the American Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the World Glaucoma Association (WGA), in which he serves as an associate Advisory Board member.
Prof Skaat presided as the head of the Glaucoma Center in the Sheba Medical Center, the board of directors member of the Israel Ophthalmology Society, the chairman of the Ophthalmology Board Exams Committee of the Israeli Medical Association, and is currently the chairman of the Israeli Glaucoma Society.
