The Brain Tissue Repository at Sheba Medical Center, established in 2015, is the sole facility of its kind in Israel with approximately 400 registered donors.
Sheba’s brain tissue repository collaborates with Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, a renowned institution with over three decades of experience in managing brain tissue repositories.
Primarily focused on investigating neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease, elucidating brain disease mechanisms, and advancing dementia therapeutics such as Rivastigmine, the brain tissue bank at Sheba plays a crucial role in the field.
The National Brain Tissue Repository experts in Israel suggest that using brain repositories could transform global research to find better dementia treatments.
