Cardio-Vascular Imaging Service
Director: Dr. Orly Goitein
The Cardio-Vascular Imaging service was established in 2004 at the Imaging Institute, marking the pioneering integration of a dedicated CT and MRI service for heart diagnostics in Israel. The unit has state-of-the-art CT devices, provided by industry leaders Philips and GE, with advanced capabilities. CT examinations of the heart are conducted using the modern Philips ICT device, equipped with 256 slices and the highest speeds in the world.
The Imaging Institute at Sheba is at the forefront of institutes globally, pioneering the use of an advanced device that delivers superior image quality while reducing radiation exposure by over 70% for individuals undergoing testing. Equipped with state-of-the-art Signa HDX MRI devices by GE, our institute boasts specialized workstations for conducting heart tests and stations enabling advanced processing of test results. The interpretation of CT and MRI tests, as well as MR Angiography, necessitates intricate processing on dedicated computers, expertly carried out by experienced radiologists. Their expertise is crucial in obtaining dependable and high-quality results.
At the Imaging Institute in Sheba Medical Center, our cardiac imaging service is staffed by a distinguished team of technologists, radiologists, and leading cardiologists with extensive proficiency in CT, MRI, and cardiac catheterization. We collaborate closely with the Invasive Radiology Unit at the Imaging Institute, the Heart Institute at Sheba, numerous other cardiac institutes nationwide, and the Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Department at Sheba.
