The Clinical Research Center aims to advance, optimize, and improve processes related to clinical trials in children, all while prioritizing treatment quality, patient safety, and rights. We strive to provide patients with the most advanced treatments, utilizing innovative technologies, and aiming for excellence and leadership.
The center offers its services to all parties involved in research work within the hospital. Our clinical trials adhere to international standards and meet the requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the most rigorous Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Lab/ Basic Research
This research focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind diseases. It involves laboratory work, where scientists investigate cell activity at the molecular level, including proteins, genes, and other components. By studying patient treatment and diagnosis issues in the lab, valuable insights and solutions can be developed. This type of research helps us gain a precise understanding of different diseases and facilitates the development of innovative treatments. However, it often takes several years for groundbreaking discoveries in the lab to translate into therapeutic changes for humans.
Clinical Research
Clinical research in humans plays a vital role in helping us understand disease processes and various conditions, including how diseases appear in the body, how common they are, and how easily they spread. Clinical research also assesses new treatments in patients, building upon the lab research that led to their development.
Clinical Trials
A clinical trial is a controlled experiment in humans that aims to test the effectiveness and safety of a specific medical treatment. This treatment can include drugs, medical equipment, surgical procedures, radiotherapy, or other forms of treatment. Clinical trials are crucial in preventing the use of treatments that have low efficacy or severe side effects, which can harm health or impact quality of life.
According to guidelines from the Ministry of Health CEO, it is mandatory for all researchers to register the clinical trials in the NIH database (National Institutes of Health in the United States) before their commencement. The NIH website provides a list that includes most of the studies conducted in Israel.
