Our group is investigating the role of the innate immune system, and in particular of mononuclear phagocytes, in the development of autoimmune liver diseases and inflammatory gut disorders.
We study the function of these cells in their physiological context under steady state and pathological conditions of cholangitis, hepatitis and colitis. Our study combines advance in vivo techniques, as well as state of the art molecular and imaging modalities.
Research Interests – Leading projects in our lab:
Mononuclear Phagocytes biology in autoimmune and cholestatic liver diseases
The role of TARM-1 in the development of Inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and the liver
