Professor Sivan trained in obstetrics and gynecology at Sheba Medical Center Tel-Aviv university. Carried out a fellowship maternal fetal medicine MFM at Temple university Philadelphia USA. He later returned to Israel as a senior physician in the Maternal fetal medicine division at the Sheba medical center Tel Hashomer Israel. Since 2000 Prof. Sivan held the position as Maternal Fetal Medicine Division head and is an associate Professor at the university of Tel-Aviv medical school.
Since 2017 he holds the position of Chairman of the Gynecology and maternity Hospital Sheba Medical Center.
His research interests are High-Risk obstetrics, pathophisiolgy of GDM and Insulin resistance during pregnancy.
