Prof.Gad Segal serves as Head of he Sheba Education Authority and was head of the Department of Internal Medicine "I" until 2022. He is an Associate Dean for the St. Georges School of Medicine, London - a program delivered by the University of Nicosia (UNIC) on the campus of Sheba Medical Center.
Prof. Segal established the first COVID-19 hospital department in Israel in February 2020 and is instrumental in the care of COVID-19 patients. Prof. Segal is chair of the Israeli Ministry of Health (MOH) committee for clinical trials in humans and also for clinical trials in COVID-19 medicines and vaccination development.
Prof. Segal's main areas of research are sarcopenia and frailty during mid-life and their impact on early aging, morbidity and mortality.
