Dr. Galit Avior graduated the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion with honors in 1995. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) at the Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), after which she completed a mini fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery in Tenon Hospital, Paris. At the same time, she completed Traditional Chinese Medicine studies in Tmurot College.
After her internship, she began working in Hillel Yaffe Hospital, where she established and directed the Head and Neck Surgery Unit, with an emphasis on Thyroid and Parathyroid surgeries.
Dr. Avior is an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. She also leads the field of Neck and Thyroid Ultrasound at the Association of Otolaryngology, and Head and Neck Surgery and a Tutor at the Sackler School of Medicine.
Dr. Avior is an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, examines residents, in first and second stages and takes part in preparing the exams. She also holds Neck and Thyroid Ultrasound courses under the Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery Associations, in which international opinion leaders, with whom she is in professional and academic contact regularly, are participating.
Dr. Avior emphasizes the application and integration of new techniques used for diagnosis and treatment, including:
Molecular tests and Radio Frequency Therapy of Thyroid nodules.
Alongside her clinical and academic work, Dr. Avior has several patents on stents for the Eustachian Tube. These patents led her to establish a Start-Up company, engaged in the development of an advanced stent for the treatment of fluid in the ears.
