Musculoskeletal Imaging

Director: Prof. Iris Eshed

The Musculoskeletal Imaging Service is dedicated to visualizing the the bony skeleton and muscles using different imaging modalities.

The Musculoskeletal Imaging Service is equipped with two advanced multi-slice computed tomography devices (64-slice CT) by GE and Philips, as well as two advanced MRI machines (1.5 Tesla and 3 Tesla) by GE, which feature advanced equipment and special protocols for imaging the skeletal system.

As part of our service, we utilize plain films and, when necessary, fluoroscopy devices. All imaging is in digital format. The institute is equipped with a digital archive backup system that ensures the long-term storage and backup of all imaging tests for each individual over many years.

Musculoskeletal Imaging Services performed include the following:

Plain X-rays, CT and MRI scans, CT and MRI with arthrography for intraarticular imaging, CT-guided diagnostic biopsies of the bony skeleton and muscles, CT-guided Radio-Frequency treatment of bone tumors (osteoid osteoma), pain treatment for sacroiliac joints resulting from inflammatory diseases.

Academic activity:

Our unit provides comprehensive training and education for medical students, interns, and medical student on rotations. We also conduct cutting-edge research in skeletal imaging.
