With the advancement of technology, an increasing number of children with complex needs require gastrostomy treatment at home. The clinic aims to address the challenges these children face, both at home and in institutions. The goal is to ensure optimal management of gastrostomy treatment while achieving satisfaction for families and healthcare teams.
During follow-up meetings, the nurse assesses potential issues such as skin problems, tube-related adjustments, pump issues, and caregiver concerns. The nurse also provides updates on advanced equipment and treatments, along with supportive therapy to improve social integration and maintain a complete family life. Currently, there is no organization in the community specifically dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by these children.
Gastric Insertion
When long-term nutritional support is needed and a decision is made to perform a gastric insertion, it can be done using gastroscopy, which is an endoscopic procedure. Various types of tubes, such as the one-step button, are inserted into the unit.
