The Pediatric Emergency Department operates 24/7, providing medical response for urgent medical conditions such as injuries and various trauma cases, as well as resuscitation and stabilization in severe emergencies. This includes cases coming from abroad and the Palestinian Authority. The department's team also assists in performing various procedures for hospital departments and clinics to reduce pain and anxiety.
We understand the discomfort and worry that children experience when they are unwell or injured, especially in an unfamiliar setting. Our dedicated team goes the extra mile to provide comfort, alleviate pain, and reduce anxiety levels in children. It's worth noting that our medical staff in the department has completed the sedation course at the MSR-Azrieli Medical Simulation Center.
The emergency department includes a triage room (where the initial assessment is conducted), five examination rooms, a treatment room, a resuscitation room, a dedicated room for burn treatment, sutures, application of casts, and an inhalation room.
Additionally, we operate a department with a unit for short-term hospitalizations of up to 48 hours. This is used for monitoring, supervision, administration of fluids, intravenous drugs, sleep studies, and more.
Our department is known for its expertise in pediatric emergency medicine and rotations in pediatric emergency medicine for trainees, in pediatric medicine, and in emergency medicine for adults.
What makes us unique
We leverage various techniques, both human and technology-based, to mediate processes, distract attention, and reduce pain, suffering, and anxiety. For example, we perform emergency procedures under sedation and analgesia using a variety of means that include laughing gas, sedative medications, and more.
Ultrasound diagnosis: assessment of cardiac function, diagnosis of intestinal obstruction, trauma, foreign bodies and more
We are among the first in Israel, and the first in the world, to use a computerized medical records from the reception of the patient until discharge.
Continuous activity of peer meetings, team training through advanced simulation and more.
