The Pediatric Nephrology Unit is dedicated to diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with various kidney diseases. We specialize in congenital abnormalities, genetic disorders, acquired kidney diseases, enuresis, proteinuria, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, acute and chronic kidney failure, hypertension, and bedwetting. Our team provides care for both outpatient children and hospitalized patients, offering diagnostic evaluations, medical treatment, and urgent dialysis therapies such as peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and hemofiltration. Following discharge, we continue to monitor and follow up with our patients in the comfort of their homes.
In collaboration with the Institute of Pediatric Kidney Cell Research, the Pediatric Nephrology Unit is a leading system in the country for basic and clinical research in kidney development. We strive to understand the formation of kidney malformations and find innovative ways to treat chronic kidney failure through cellular and genetic therapy.
The unit works in full cooperation with other clinics at the Medical Center, providing unique services:
Specialized clinics for nephrology, nephrogenetics, and tuberous sclerosis
Renal biopsies, in collaboration with the Ultrasound Institute and the Pathology Institute
Nephrological consultation for pregnant women, in collaboration with the Obstetric Ultrasound Unit
Congenital kidney malformations, in collaboration with the Pediatric Urology Unit. The unit is unique in the country in understanding, diagnosing, and treating congenital malformations.
