The Tuberous Sclerosis (TS) Clinic at the Sheba Tel Hashomer Medical Center is not only the largest and leading clinic in Israel, but also the first clinic outside the US to be recognized by the American Tuberous Sclerosis Association. Since its establishment in 2011, the clinic has been dedicated to providing solutions and support to children, adolescents, and adults from all over the country, addressing their diverse and complex needs, as well as those of their families.

What is Tuberous Sclerosis?

Tuberous Sclerosis is a genetic disease that affects multiple organs, leading to the development of noncancerous tumors. Common symptoms include neurological damage including retardation, epilepsy, autism, kidney damage, eye damage, and various skin phenomena.

Clinic services

Diagnosis - Children referred for suspected TS undergo a comprehensive examination, which includes a neurological assessment, neuropsychological evaluation, skin examination (including Wood's lamp), eye examination, nephrological assessment, various imaging tests, EG tests, and genetic testing.

Innovative treatments and research - the clinic staff utilizes cutting-edge treatments with innovative drugs that target the mechanisms of disease progression. These drugs contribute to tumor regression (resulting from the disease), provide therapeutic benefits for epilepsy, and enhance cognitive function.

Every year, our clinic organizes seminars and lectures for doctors and the families of our patients. These events bring together senior researchers and doctors from Israel and abroad.
