Dr. Vered Bar mission is to prevent and alleviate mental disorders in women, particularly during pregnancy and postpartum. As director of the National Chava Center for Maternal Mental Health at Sheba, she set a goal to develop and implement innovative treatment for perinatal women and their families.
Dr. Vered Bar and her staff opened the first mother-baby day unit in Israel, dyadic hospitalization, and the world's first virtual ward for perinatal women. They have a close collaboration with Sheba Women's Hospital and Sheba Children's Hospital, contributing significantly to comprehensive women's mental health care. They help develop new centers across the country and are now building the first Mother-Baby unit that will enable hospitalization of a mother, when needed, without separating her from her baby.
