The clinic provides care for preschool children facing challenges with eating and growing.
An eating disorder in children is a condition characterized by insufficient food intake or abnormal and restricted eating patterns, leading to impaired nutrition and growth. This phenomenon can be attributed to various factors, including biological-genetic, emotional, familial, and cultural-social influences. It may present as partial or complete refusal to eat, selective eating, challenges transitioning between different stages of nutrition (e.g., from breastfeeding or bottle feeding to solid food), abnormal eating behaviors (such as crying during meals, food retention in the mouth, difficulty swallowing, and regurgitation), ritualistic and abnormal eating habits, and inadequate or slow weight gain.
Without the right treatment, these challenges can worsen over time. To overcome these, families may require professional advice at an early childhood eating clinic.
Our Team
The clinic's team comprises a diverse group of professionals, including a pediatrician, a dietician, a clinical psychologist, a clinical social worker, and a communication therapist. We're here to diagnose and treat children aged 0-6 from all health funds (applications from parents of older children are examined on a per-case basis), including those with special needs like autism and developmental disabilities. Our dedicated team is committed to providing the highest level of care with a friendly touch.
The Diagnostic Process
After this meeting, we create a personalized treatment plan that takes into account the medical, nutritional, and emotional aspects. If needed, our team may recommend diagnostic tests like imaging of the digestive tract and swallowing tests to rule out any objective difficulties that might be affecting your child's eating.
