About:
Michal Marianne Amitai received her MD from Tel Aviv University in 1983.
Completed residency in diagnostic radiology at the Sheba Medical Center.
One of the first Israeli radiologist to accomplish a two year Fellowship in Cross Sectional Abdominal Imaging including US, CT and abdominal MRI, at Toronto University Health Network 1999-2001.
Positions and appointments:
Head of Abdominal Imaging Service since 2011.
Professor of radiology at Tel Aviv University, she is involved in teaching radiology to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students.
Her main interests are patient care, teaching and research.
Member of the Israeli Board Examination Committee
Member of the scientific and organizing committee of the Annual International Meeting of the Israeli Radiological Association.
Active member in the scientific committee of the Franco-Israélienne Annual Meeting d’Imagerie Médicale (AFIIM) and the annual French-Israeli Course in Radiology.
Active member of RSNA Radiologic Society of North America, ESR European society of radiology and ESGAR European society of gastrointestinal radiology.
Clinical & Research Interests:
Active in research and patient care in various fields of radiology, in particular: emergency, oncology, gastrointestinal including liver and pancreas imaging.
Leading expertise in imaging of the small bowel in Crohn's disease patients and MR Enterography. Pioneering and leading the hospital Virtual Colonoscopy service.
Involved in an ongoing collaboration with the biomedical engineering department in Tel Aviv University researching automated image analysis
Prof MM Amitai has published more than 82 peer-reviewed articles and over 80 presentations in national and international conference.
