What is biofeedback?

Biofeedback is a treatment modality that blends elements from the fields of medicine, psychology and technology. The method is based on an individual’s ability to exert control over the functioning of the autonomic nervous system. This system is responsible for regulating involuntary actions, including heartbeat, bowel movements, perspiration, and breathing, which are not subject to conscious control.

The technology available in treatment allows us to measure and receive up-to-date information about the activity of the autonomic nervous system.  Through the feedback patients receive, together with the therapeutic process between them and the psychologist, individuals gain heightened awareness and control over their physical and mental responses.

Our clinic adopts a holistic treatment approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of the body and mind, such that a change in one will naturally result in a change in the other.

From years of our clinic’s experience, it appears that an effective therapeutic process involves a combination of psychological therapy and biofeedback techniques.

The clinic staff includes psychologists who specialize in clinical and rehabilitation settings.
