Research plays a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and preventing developmental disabilities. Our research center at the Institute for Child Development is dedicated to unraveling the mechanisms behind neurodiverse conditions like autism, cognitive disabilities, epilepsy, and cerebral palsy. We're committed to promoting the well-being of children through pharmacological and behavioral interventions. Our collaborative studies involve researchers, medical students, and psychologists at various stages of specialization and are carried out in collaboration with medical centers worldwide.

At our center, we conduct various studies focusing on autism. For instance, we are currently exploring the potential benefits of administering human umbilical cord blood intravenously to improve core symptoms of autism. Additionally, we investigate therapeutic interventions that can enhance the emotional regulation and functioning of children on the autism spectrum. Our research also delves into the influence of the immune system on autism development, risk factors (with a special emphasis on gender), and the impact of social groups on adolescents with autism. Furthermore, we have a unique program at the Child Development Institute specifically designed for adolescents with autism. Lastly, we are conducting a study for the general population aimed at reducing screen exposure from an early age.As part of the Diagnostic Communication Kindergarten at the Child Development Institute, we conducted additional research aimed at children aged 3-6 on the autism spectrum who have unresolved diagnostic questions. Enrolment in this program lasts for one year, during which we explore how parents of children on the spectrum navigate stress and other challenges.

All studies strictly adhere to the regulations set by the Helsinki Committee. Participant information is handled confidentially and safeguarded diligently.
