The Clinic for Pregnant Women with Heart Disease has been operating within the Heart Center for more than 25 years.

The clinic provides comprehensive medical follow-up by both a cardiologist, Dr. Copperstein, and a gynecologist, Dr. Frankel, who work together to assess pregnancy risks, prevent complications, and achieve optimal outcomes.

Who can benefit from our clinic?
Pregnancy puts extra physical strain on the body, particularly for women with heart disease. This heightened exertion can lead to a range of complications. When the patient comes in for medical follow-up before or at the start of the pregnancy, it helps improve her condition to the fullest and reduces the chances of potential complications.

Our clinic works in close collaboration with various services and clinics, where patients are referred for further consultation as needed.

Associated clinics and laboratories comprise an echocardiography laboratory, a high-risk pregnancy clinic, a coagulation clinic, and a genetics clinic.

Our goal is to identify and anticipate any complications and offer the necessary treatment to ensure the mother and fetus are kept safe from even the slightest risks.

In complex cases, the clinic's team of doctors collaborates with consulting doctors to develop a tailored treatment plan for the patient, which includes guidelines on how to behave in an emergency.

The great majority of cases do not reach these conditions, and the majority of our patients at the clinic give birth to healthy babies without any additional harm to their health.

How do you get admitted to the clinic?
Patients are referred to the clinic by the inpatient units in the hospital or by family doctors, cardiologists, and gynecologists in the hospital and community.

Continued care during pregnancy is coordinated with the attending physicians. Following childbirth, patients resume their treatment under their care.
