The general respiratory clinic is part of the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Sheba. Our clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions affecting the chest (airways, lungs, and the surrounding membrane, as well as the mediastinum - the chest cavity containing the heart, arteries, trachea, esophagus, and thymus gland). For example: chronic cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, airway diseases (such as asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis - widening of the bronchial tubes), infections (such as bacterial and fungal pneumonia, tuberculosis, and NTM - non-tuberculous mycobacteria), pulmonary fibrosis (lung tissue diseases), pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs), and systemic diseases involving the lungs: autoimmune diseases (such as sarcoidosis and lupus), immune suppression, obstructive sleep apnea, and heart failure.
We work with experienced radiologists and pathologists who specialize in chest diseases, as well as the thoracic surgery department. When there is suspicion of lung cancer, our collaboration extends to involve radiologists, oncologists specializing in chest diseases, the thoracic surgery department, and the radiotherapy institute.
