The Congenital Heart Defects Unit is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, and one of the largest in Europe. Our team has over 30 years of experience in surgically repairing congenital heart diseases in children and adults. We perform over 350 surgeries per year, including highly intricate procedures. In doing so, our unit proudly stands among the leading centres in the world.
We specialize in heart valve interventions for congenital issues, aortic valve surgeries, Ross procedure, and repair of heart defects in low weight babies (less than 2.5 kg). In recent years, hybrid procedures have been carried out at the center, combining surgical intervention and cardiac catheterization simultaneously.
Our team has pioneered a unique surgical technique in select procedures, aimed at delivering optimal cosmetic outcomes. This innovative approach enables surgery through a discreet, minimally visible incision.
Treating congenital heart defects in children involves close collaboration among different departments, such as pediatric cardiology, hospitalization, pediatric intensive care, pre-pregnancy, pediatric anesthesia, and cardiosurgery. The teamwork within these units provides the best possible conditions for treatment, even in the most challenging cases.
Our team also collaborates with the world's leading cardiology centers in the field of research and development of new diagnostic methods, approaches, and surgical techniques.
