The Department of Geriatric Rehabilitation B is dedicated to providing a high-quality and secure service. Our inclusive approach focuses on the unique needs of the elderly patient and is provided by our multi-professional team. Our department aims to lead projects and research in geriatric rehabilitation. We also focus on integrating new technologies and innovative treatment approaches
Department services
The department focuses on different aspects of geriatric medicine, with a special emphasis on rehabilitation for patients admitted after acute hospitalization from other departments within the hospital or outside of it. The department also includes a unique ortho-geriatric unit catering to elderly individuals with hip fractures. These patients are directly admitted from the emergency department and receive pre-operative and post-operative care along with rehabilitation treatment, subject to approval from their health fund.
The typical rehabilitation process varies from two weeks to three months, depending on the diagnosis, clinical and functional condition during hospitalization, and progress in the rehabilitation process.
Our department also operates a consulting outpatient clinic.
Staff expertise
Our medical team comprises two doctors who specialize in geriatric medicine, along with 3-4 specialists in geriatric medicine at different stages of their specialization. The nursing staff comprises 17 certified nurses, out of which 15 hold an academic degree, 5 have completed basic training, and 3 serve as clinical instructors. Our paramedical team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, a social worker, a dietitian, a psychologist and a spiritual guide. All teams collaborate closely to meet the patient's needs during their hospital stay.
