Department of Psychiatry C is a comprehensive inpatient department for male patients. It includes both a secure unit and an open hospitalization wing. The secure unit focuses on the hospitalization of patients with acute and complex mental conditions, requiring strict treatment and security protocols.
Our department performs an in-depth assessment and provides treatment for a wide variety of psychiatric disorders. As a university hospital, the department is actively involved in diverse research. Treatment in our department is grounded in the biopsychosocial model, and is provided by a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, art therapists, psychodrama therapists, and social workers. Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive and tailored approach that addresses each patient's individual needs in the most effective way.
Biological treatments
Biological treatments focus mainly on medication. Medicinal intervention has been proven to be very effective in treating anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is effective in treating specific types of mood disorders.
Psychotherapy
This mode of treatment is based on meaningful dialogues with patients and their families. The goal is to identify mechanisms for dealing with the disease and its effects, and to help patients in strengthening these mechanisms and acquiring new tools to deal with their problems. Treatment is provided by the department's team of psychologists and is, by its very nature, individually tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.
